JAMMU: Guided by the brilliant batting display by Bhanu Champion Cricket Club Jammu registered win in the ongoing State Ball Busters Cricket Tournament being organised jointly by Aditi Welfare Trust, 999 Productions and Rajveer Bugss at Sports Ground, Parade, here on Tuesday.
In today’s match, Champion Cricket Club Jammu defeated Spartan Cricket Club Kashmir by 24 runs.
Earlier batting first after winning the toss, Champion Cricket Club scored 191 runs in 20 overs. Bhanu Gupta played a fine innings of 75 runs off 47 balls smashing three sixes and seven boundaries. Raman also played well and added valuable 45 runs while Rinku contributed 17. For Spartan Cricket Club, Qaisar picked three wickets while Iqbal took two and Altaf claimed one wicket.
In reply, Spartan Club was bowled out for 167. Ishtaiq Illahi with 34, Raja Amjid 39 and Zubair 13 runs were the main scorers.
For Champion Club, Bunty grabbed four wickets, Akhil took two and Bhanu picked one.
For his winning knock, Bhanu Gupta was declared Man of the Match.
Today’s match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Saleem ur Rehman, Ashok Singh and Sakir Akhtar.
Varun Malgotra, J.P Singh and Geeta Thakur were the special invitees in today’s match who appreciated the efforts of Aditi Welfare Trust for promoting cricket in budding youths of the State by providing a platform. They distributed trophies and certificates among the players.
