Sports ReporterJAMMU: Selected by the J&K Amateur Athletics Association, the State team shall leave for participation in the 31st North Zone Junior Athletics Championship to be held at Sangrur in Punjab from September 14, here tomorrow. Earlier, the selected athletes underwent screening conducted by the J&K State Sports Council at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. The screening was conducted by Divisional Sports Officer, Ravi Singh in presence of General Secretary of the Association, Sharat Chander Singh, Satish Gupta (Manager Indoor Stadium). The team shall be accompanied by Ramesh Sharma and Gurucharan Singh as officials. “We expect improved performance from the selected athletes in the North Zone meet. Last year, J&K won one gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the same event,” General Secretary of the Association, Sharat Chander said. The Team: Arti Devi (U-14), Tanushi Sharma (U-14), Vasu Sapolia (U-16), Sourav Singh (U-16), Arya Mahajan (U-18), Nikhil Kumar (U-18), Abrar Choudhary (U-18), Jugraj Singh (U-18), Shamani Devi (U-18).
