SRO 520 of 2017 issued recently by the State Government is not a justified act but unsatisfying relief to the casual workers and daily wagers. They have waited long for justice from the government for their regularisation and enjoy benefits that a government employee is provided with. They have no transfer policy, job security, or DA benefits. Some employees have not received their wages for the last few months. People who donated their lands to government for free and in return were promised employment, but they were engaged as casual workers. Even ITI trained workers and seasonal workers are suffering a lot. Thus, the provision is nothing but eyewash. Government should revise it and make amendments to sort out the issues people are facing.
