Sports Reporter JAMMU: To augment the financial status of Tawi Trekkers J&K for the promotion of adventure activities in J&K, Chairman, Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab and a senior member of the Club, Rahul Sharma donated Rs.31,000 besides annual membership fee of Rs.12,000. The cheques were presented by Rahul Sharma to the General Secretary of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Shawetica Khajuria in the presence of President of Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria; Principal of Apple Kids, Bantalab, Arti Sharma; Vice-Principal of Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Vidhina Mahajan and pioneer sport climber of J&K, Abhimanyu Sherpa. It may be mentioned here that Sprawling Buds ICSE School under the chairmanship of Rahul Sharma has been in the forefront to promote adventure activities in J&K especially Sport Climbing and trekking. The school has a standard 40ft high fiber glass sport climbing wall on which all the district and open sport climbing events of Jammu province as well as State competitions are regularly conducted. The school has the unique honour of hosting the first ever National Sport Climbing Championship for visually impaired climbers besides conducting many North Zone competitions on this climbing wall. Meanwhile, Ram Khajuria has expressed his deep gratitude to Rahul Sharma for the liberal good will gesture and hoped that with sustained financial support of members like Rahul Sharma, Tawi Trekkers mission of producing international mountaineers, sport climbers and medalists shall be achieved soon.
