STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The J and K State Sports Council on Tuesday accorded a rousing reception to the international medal winners from J and K who brought laurels for the country by winning medals in the recently held 6th PARS Cup held in Iran, a tournament in which world’s top 15 countries took part. Wushu players Bhanu Pratap Singh and Rajinder Singh won gold medal and bronze medal in the International meet representing India. The Indian team was coached by Kuldeep Handoo. The team members on their arrival were garlanded. The champions were later taken in procession from airport to the Sports House MA Stadium Jammu. The members of the Wushu Association and congratulated the medal winners and Coach Kuldeep Handoo. Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu Ranjeet Kalra, while praising the medal winners for their achievement, congratulated them on behalf of the Chief Minister, who is also the President of State Sports Council, Sports Minister Imran Ansari and Secretary Waheed Para. It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister Mehboob Mufti had recently honoured the three champion Wushu players Bhanu Pratap and Rajinder Singh and Coach Kuldeep Handoo with cash awards as a token of recognition of their achievements. OSD Sports Council Mustaq Baba, Vijay Saraf President State Wushu Association, Deepak Handa Vice President, Chief Sports Officer Haji Abdul Qayoom and DSO Ravi Singh also felicitated the team for their stellar performance.
