AgencySAVAR: Bangladesh beat India by a huge margin of 6 wickets in their second match at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Teams Asia Cup Asian at Savar. Soumya Sarkar and Nazmul Hossain Shanto had played a key role in winning with their stormy innings. India threw a target of 247 runs in front of the Bangladesh Emerging Team after losing the toss on Saturday, November 16 at BKSP’s No.3 field. In reply, Soumya Sarkar scored 73 runs and Nazmul Hossain Shanto scored 94 runs to pick-up an easy win for Bangladesh. Bangladesh lost the wicket of opener Mohammad Naim in 15 runs to chase the target. However, Soumya and Shanto made a very good partnership of 144runs in the second wicket. Soumya scored 73 runs off 68 balls after he got out on the team’s 159 runs. His innings included 7 fours and 3 sixes. Despite Soumya’s departure, Shanto played in his own way and was about to get century. However, the captain of the Bangladesh team stopped at 94 runs, only 6 runs away from the century. He scored 94 runs off 88 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes. Yasir Ali then added 21 runs and after that Afif Hossain and Zakir Hasan picked-up the win calm and smoothly. Saurabh Dubey, Sanvir Singh, Siddharth Desai and Yash Vijay all took one wicket each for India. Earlier, the Indian batsmen lost wickets at regular intervals, but Arman Jaffer picked up a brilliant century. Before the dismissal by Sumon Khan, he scored 105 runs off 98 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes. The second highest 40 runs came from Vinayak Gupta’s bat. Bangladeshi bowler Sumon grabbed four wickets for 64 runs in 10 overs. Tanvir Islam and Soumya Sarkar picked up two wickets each. Mahadi Hasan and Hasan Mahmud also got one wicket each. With this second win, the first place of Group B is now occupied by Bangladesh. Earlier, Bangladesh beat Hong Kong by 9 wickets in their first match.
