State Times NewsKATRA: Research students of the School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, Ayushi and Devika Sharma attended a Boot-Camp on Theoretical and Experimental Phonology organized by the CIIL, Mysore recently. Prominent linguists such as Dr. Hemanga Dutta, Prof. SomdevKar, Prof. Pramod Pandey, Prof. Uma Rao, Prof. P PerumalSamy and others delivered lectures on Optimality Theory, Prosodic Phonology, Phonological Word, Lexical Phonology, Tonogenesis: Misconceptions and Explanations respectively. The research scholars were benefitted from the interactive sessions and got the opportunity to gain knowledge through intellectual interactions with the eminent academicians as well as research scholars/experts across the globe. Ayushi and Devika Sharma have been working under the supervision of Dr. Amitabh, Head, School of Languages and Literature, SMVDU. Notably, the research scholars expressed their gratification for the insightful learning and they are looking forward to attending such events in near future.
