STATE TIMES NEWSNAGROTA: Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Head, School of Languages and Literature, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), delivered a plenary talk on “Conflicts and Family Life”, in a national conference on “Conflict and the Everyday Narratives from the Personal and Public Realms” during February 21 to 23, 2020, where he discussed how petty trivialities and ordinary conflicts contribute to separation and divorce. He discussed both personal and textual narratives, and emphasised how taxonomy of conflicts will help us providing a solution to avoid separation and divorce.
Also, Devika Sharma, Research Student, SMVDU, presented a talk on “Disturbance and Urban Conflict”, while scrutinising conflicts caused by communication gaps. The faculty and scholar through their talks tried to find out the solution of any personal conflict, leading to miscommunication and disharmony in relationships. Dr. Dwivedi emphasised that conflict is a normal occurrence, and communication is the most important solution to family problems. Dr. Dwivedi thanked Dr. Quleen Kaur, HSS, IIT Jammu for inviting him to the event.
