SRINAGAR: Fine innings from Skipper Rajesh Salhotra on Sunday guided University of Jammu (JU) sail into the semifinals of the ongoing Vice Chancellor’s Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, hosted by University of Kashmir (KU). Rajesh, who made 46 runs off just 23 deliveries, helped the side register a nine-run victory against Kashmir University.
Earlier, batting first, JU set a target of 122 runs in 20 overs. Besides Rajesh, Niranjan Singh also batted well contributing 25 runs.
In reply, Kashmir University was bowled out for 114 runs. Avtar and Sandeep claimed three wickets each while Balwant picked two and Rajesh and Sumit picked one wicket each.
Rajesh Salhotra was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, JU, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports and Physical Education, Pawan Singh Bhau, President JUNTEU and Sham Lal Sharma, Manager of the team complemented the team for this victory.
