KISHTWAR: The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary on Monday inaugurated self employment and skill development centre at Kishtwar in which the first batch of 40 girls and ladies were enrolled for undergoing vocational/skill development training in cutting and tailoring. The programm was started by Softech Institute of IT Kishtwar and is being sponsored by District Police Kishtwar. Besides inauguration and inspections, the SSP Kishtwar handed over high end sewing machines to the female trainees in presence of the management of the Institute and the Police Officers.
The Softech Institute of IT has been established by a group of individuals under the aegis of ‘Softech Education and Charitable Trust’ in the year-2017. In order to impart the skill development to the unemployed youth and women the district police has sponsored the first batch of 40 girls and women to be trained in cutting and tailoring by the Softech Charitable Trust. The various trainees comprising girls and women enrolled for skill development training belong to Kishtwar town and its outskirts including Chatroo , Padder, Trigham etc.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary inaugurated the Cutting Tailoring Skill Development Centre and welcomed its first batch of trainees. The SSP inspected the centre and briefed the trainees on the importance of skill development and self employment to address the issues of growing unemployment. He said that with ever increasing population and competition the only option remains to address unemployment is self-employment through skill development. The State and the Central Governments are focusing in this area and the youth and unemployed folks should take benefits of various schemes launched in this regard, said the SSP.
Those present on the occasion from the side of Trust Management included Shahid Hussain Chairman Softech Charitable Trust, Tara Chand President, Tousif Ahmed Vice President Trust, Asiya Tabbasum, Raja Singh and Babli Instructors in Skill Development.
Present on the occasion were Parbeet Singh Additional SP Kishtwar, Inspector Sameer Jellani SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Asgar Ali District Secretary Redcross Kishtwar and others.
After inauguration ceremony and inspection the Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar handed over the high end sewing machines and other accessories to the trainees.
