JAMMU: Miran Sahib team emerged overall winner in the Sixth Virsa Sambhal Gatka Competition oganised by Jaanbaaz Khalsa Gatka Trust Miran Sahib, near here on Sunday.
The main vision to organise the competition was to make the youth specially girls aware about Sikh martial arts so as to defend themselves.
In the competition, 12 teams from Miran Sahib, Chatha, Simbal, Phinder, Laswara, Sunderbani, Preet Nagar, Chowalla, Bandhu Rakh, Wadali Rakh, Garhi and Dablehar took part.
The overall winner of the competition was Miran Sahib team whereas first runner up was Simbal and second runner-up Chatha team. Special prizes were also presented to the students who got outstanding percentage in their academic education. Prizes were distributed by SHO Miran Sahib R.K Rakwal.
The competition was officiated by the technical panel including Dalgir Singh, Rattandeer Singh, Sandeep Singh, Balwinder Singh, Amandeep Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Gurleen Singh, Abjot Singh, Gurpreet Kour, Rashleen Kour, Chanpreet Singh, Ravipaul Singh and Jagwinder Singh.
