REASI: Continuing its drive against illegal miners, on Monday late night, acting on a tip off, a special team from Police station Reasi, went to Anji Nallah, where the illegal mining was taking place, despite being banned by the order of District Magistrate, Reasi.
Sensing the police vehicle coming, some vehicle owners tried to flee from the spot, but police managed to arrest six persons, mostly drivers and labourers of tippers and tractors. They were caught loading their vehicles with riverbed material (Sand, Bajri etc). The accused persons have been identified as Anil Sharma alias Makhan son of Sudesh Kumar resident of Suketer, Ashiq Ali son of Fazal Kareem resident of Kayala, Junaid Mohd son of Mohd Hussain residnet of Dassanoo, Matbir Hussain son of Mashir Din resident of Dassanoo, Mohd Latif son of Mohd Shafi resident of Dassanoo and Mohd Haroon son of Mohd Hussain resident of Dassanoo.
A case vide FIR No. 31/19 under section 188 RPC, has been lodged in Police Station Reasi, against the above mentioned accused persons. The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Dr Nikhil Gogna DySP Hqrs Reasi, Shiv Kumar Chouhan ASP Reasi and under the overall supervision of SSP Reasi Nisha Nathyal.
