JAMMU: Singh Club Akhnoor entered into the final of First Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship, organised jointly by Road Safety Department and District Police Jammu at Parade Ground, here.
Earlier in the first semifinal played here on Friday, Singh Club Akhnoor registered eight-wicket win against Vishal Cricket Club.
Batting first, Vishal Club scored 113 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 19.2 overs. Umar Nisar was the top scorer with 41 runs while Abhinav Puri and Farooq chipped in 15 and 13 runs respectively.
For Singh Club, Veedu was the pick of the bowler, who grabbed four important wickets while Sunil took two. In reply, Singh Club chased the target in 12 overs for the loss of two wickets. Amir played a fine inning of 42 runs while Sumit and Chandan made 29 and 25 runs respectively.
For Vishal Club, Rajesh Gill and Abhinav Puri shared one wicket each.
For his best bowling performance, Veedu was adjudged as Man of the Match. Today’s match was officiated by Ashok, Sanju and Vinod.
FIXTURE: Road Safety XI will play against Strikers Cricket Club at 1:00 PM in second semifinal.
