Dear Editor, India is the biggest democracy of the world.Every year billions of voters cast their mandate in one or another election in different corners of the country.it is not hyperbolic if we call this nation as an election suffering nation. It is always on election mode.Elections are no doubt the beauty of a democratic country, but exorbitant and frequent involvement of a nation in election is not a fruitful thing for a developing country. Enormous amount of money spent on these election process lower down the pace of economic growth. Because we know in these elections lot of public money and machinery get utilize.large number of employees engaged for conducting these election participated in various kind of training programmes. Earlier due to ballot box procedure lot of stationery, papers and other expensive items were used in rigmarole election. Now a days ballot box is replaced with Evms, vvpat, and other items . Also there is need of maintenance of strong rooms, installation of cctv cameras and other sophisticated devices. These thing are also very costly and require lot of money and human resource for their maintenance and utilization. so,there is a need to adopt some alternative measures to avoid this extra burden of frequent election in our country. Simultaneous election is a very plausible solution to get rid from this necessary evil. But ,is it possible to arrange simultaneous election in India?? This is a big question mark for all the stakeholders of democracy. There is an urgent necessity to make a common consensus over this issue. The concept of simultaneous election or one nation one election in Indian democracy is a very unexpected dream to be fulfilled in near future ,when there is existence of regional political scenario in the country. All the regional parties are looking for their own vote bank and personal interest. They believe in the concept of party first and nation last. There is an urgent need to change this idealogy for national interest. But the irony is that no body is worried about nation and national interest. The bold and decisive dreaming of modi govt for simultaneous election will proving to be a big milestone for Indian politics. It will not only curtail extra expenditure on election process but also give relaxation to security personnel to their hectic operations. Every year lot of security personnel are deployed for conducting smooth election process . This hectic operation required lot of money and machinery. The concept of simultaneous election will also going to be fruitful for common masses as frequent election campaign and process may create uneasiness for general public .Due to frequent election announcement the model code of conduct imposed on public works and projects. As a result we can see a delay and lingering in various projects launched by govt.moreover no new announcement will be possible due to announcement of election dates. All the time of year we can see that our country and election commission is busy in preparation of this gala event . If there is scope of simultaneous election, all the campaigning and election engineering may stop at once and then govt will take initiative for development process. however in order to implement this step there is need to develop common consensus among various political parties to clarify their myths and iniquitous doubts. The concept of one nation one election is very helpful for our country if implemented with strong political will. Now ,the present govt is in absolute majority in two houses of the parliament. such a bold ,historic and candid decision can only be possible with puissant political will and absolute majority. It is the appropriate time for this govt to take such decisions which are above the party politics and beneficial for nation. modi who is is known as man of surprises left no stone unturned to fulfil this opportunity with smooth mandate this time.
