JAMMU: Shiv Sena activists on Tuesday held a protest demanding the immediate repair of the stretch of road from Toph Bridge to Mandlik Nagar, here. The demonstration was led Chairman Shiv Sena, Vipin Hindu, President, Dimpy Kohli and Working President, Ashwani Gupta.
They said that even after several protests, the authorities were least bothered about doing permanent repair of the road.
“Temporary filling of potholes is no solution, instead a permanent solution should be found,” they said.
They said the road leading from the Top Bridge to Mandlik Nagar is in bad condition and even one cannot walk on foot on this road.
The authorities are giving the step mother’s treatment to the area and no one is there to address the problems being faced by the residents of Mandlik Nagar, they said.
Even the Nallah flowing in the area is never cleaned by the authorities, they added.
“The department should take up permanent work as the rains have subsided,” they said.
They warned the concerned department to get the problems of the area sorted out as soon as possible, otherwise, Shiv Sena will be forced to block the traffic on Akhnoor Road to get the justice.
Nathpal Choudhary, Rakesh Kak, Sanjeev Kumar, Jarnail Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Arun Gupta, Shubam Manhas, Ankush Bhau, Raman Sharma, Deeraj Jamwal, Tarsem Lal, Sanjay Raina, Vinod Kumar, Joginder Pal and Madan Lal were also present on the occasion.
