STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: Principal Sessions Judge Samba M.K Sharma on Monday rejected the bail application of school bus driver Ravi Kumar and conductor Sunny Kumar accused of misbehaving with 3-year old girl. After hearing Public Prosecutor B.S Charak for the State, Advocate Vijay Gupta for the accused persons and Advocate Mandeep Singh Sambyal for the complainant, the court observed that petitioners/accused have been charge-sheeted for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354 RPC and 8/10 POCSO Act. “The investigation is in progress. The statements of the victim girl and her mother have been recorded under Section 164-A Cr.P.C before the JMIC/Munsiff Samba. In their statements, they have stated about the act done by the petitioners/accused”, the court observed adding that the petitioners/accused have failed to make out a case for being released on bail. With these observations, the court rejected the bail application. Brief facts of the case are that the victim girl child aged about 3 years is a student of nursery standard in Mount Litera School, Bari Brahmana, who was recently admitted in the aforesaid school. The petitioners/accused are driver and conductor of the vehicle used for transportation of students including the victim girl to the school and back home. There was some behavioral change in the victim girl after some days of admission. On April 23, 2019, the victim told her mother that the accused persons would kiss her and touch her body. On the strength of the complaint lodged by the mother of the victim girl, FIR was registered and investigation commenced.
