SRINAGAR: Highlighting the need of operating dial 108 Emergency Ambulance Service in the State like other states of country the Director General of Police, Dr. S.P Vaid said that saving even one life is great contribution to humanity.
Dr Vaid was speaking on the inaugural function of the two day live demonstration on ENT surgeries programme titled Rhinoplasty and FESS at Police Hospital here on Saturday.
Vaid, who was the Chief Guest on the inaugural session, said that the conferences like this are very inspiring and beneficial to the host hospital and to the attending delegates. He said that the Police Department acts as an emergency department in many situations. Because of the nature of the duties and in normal course police men and officers do also face health issues, he added.
“Keeping this in view we are making all efforts to provide better health care facilities to our men and women,” he said.
While complementing organizers for the holding conference, he said that there is no dearth of talent in the State and hopefully in near future doctors and experts not only from the country but also abroad will visit Kashmir and take part in such conferences and events. He said that under a centrally sponsored scheme dial 108 Emergency Ambulance Service have been started in whole of the country and at places the service has proved very beneficial. He said that if this scheme is launched in our State also we will be able to save a number of lives in road accidents, heart attacks and other accidents.
Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Saleem-U-Rehman while speaking on this occasion said that organising such conferences is commendable as young doctors are exposed to the experienced doctors of the country.
The inaugural session was attended by ADGP Housing, A.K Choudhary, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-U-Rehman, IGP Crime, Alok Puri, IGP Kashmir, Munir Ahmad Khan, IGP Railways, Mubarak Ahmad Ganie, IGP (Hqrs) PHQ, Surinder Kumar Gupta, AIG (P&T), Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, AIG (Pers.) Mubassir Latifi, AIG (Comm.) Manoj Pandit, Dr Rouf Ahmad, Dr Bilal Raja Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital, Srinagar, HoD ENT, GMC Srinagar, Commandants of Armed Police, senior police officers and number of doctors and senior paramedics.
Dr Sanjeev Sachdeva, Director ENT MAX Hospital and Dr. Varinder Gatsas conducted the live surgeries which were demonstrated live to the audience of doctors and paramedics.
