JAMMU: A delegation of Sanskrit scholars led by Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Bawa Kailakh Dev Asthan met Sham Lal Sharma, former Minister here on Thursday.
The delegation put forth various issues associated with Sanskrit language in Jammu and Kashmir and sought due share of Sanskrit scholars in employment opportunity.
The delegation sought separate ministry for Sanskrit language and to make Sanskrit language compulsory from 6th standards in JKBOSE syllabus so that more number of students learn about Sanskrit language from their childhood and adopt it as a regular course in their studies.
“Large number of Sanskrit learned scholars didn’t get employment in the State due to official apathy of State Government,” Shastri said, demanding scholarship and reservation quotas in university lectureship and teaching assistantship.
The delegation comprised of Mahant Rohit Shastri and Sugam Bral.
