JAMMU: Samba District won overall top position while Budgam and Srinagar retained second and third places in the State Wushu Championship which concluded at University of Jammu, here on Friday.
Young physically challenged boy, Mohsin was declared the best fighter of the event.
On the closing ceremony, Cabinet Minister, Zulfkar Ali was the Chief Guest while ADGP Armed, L Mohanty was the Guest of Honour.
Vice Chairman District Jammu Sports Council, Ranjeet Kalra presented welcome address applauding the Wushu Association of India for its brilliant results in the international event.
The minister congratulated Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Coach of India for producing international medalists not in other parts of country but from J and K too. He also congratulated Surya Bhanu Partap Singh and Rajinder Singh for their excellent performance in the world and Asian championships respectively. Later, they presented medals to the winners and congratulated all the participants for showing their excellent show in the event.
