NAGROTA: All India Sainik Schools Entrance, a qualifying examination for admitting cadets in Class VI and IX for the Academic Session 2018-19, was conducted at Sainik School Nagrota on Sunday.
About 4,000 candidates belonging to various categories as well as states applied for admission in this premier institution.
This year’s examination witnessed over 137 per cent rise in the number of candidates compared to previous years, the school management said adding that this quantum jump in the number of aspirants this year has been mainly due to introduction of online registration and OMR based answer sheets by Sainik Schools Society.
Under the directions and personal monitoring of Captain (IN) A Muthuraman, Principal, elaborate arrangements were made to accommodate this unprecedented number of candidates in Sainik School Nagrota, APS Nagrota and KV Nagrota.
The examination was also conducted at Srinagar and Leh simultaneously.
