REASI: An amount of Rs 55.82 lakh was on Friday transferred to district administration by IRCON International Limited for permanent restoration of two Khuls which were damaged during construction work in 2012.
These two Khuls are Upper Pai- Kotli and Chamera-Pangal having length of 2,500 meter and 4,100 meter respectively which dried during the works thereby affecting 3,180 Kanals command cultivable area of village Kotli Manotrian and 2,400 Kanals area of Chamera and Pangal.
Out of total amount Rs 46.38 lakh would be spent on permanent restoration of Upper Pai-Kotli Khul and Rs 9.44 lakh for Chamera-Pangal Khul. The second installment of funds would also be sanctioned for completion of Khuls work.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar after taking stock of damages of Khuls vigorously took up the matter with the construction company to resolve the issue.
