STATE TIMES NEWSUDHAMPUR: KLSM Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital Udhampur which was undertaken by ‘The Udhampur Rotary Eye and General Welfare Foundation’ in collaboration with Rotary Club Udhampur achieved another mile stone by way of adding additional facilities in the field of eye diagnostic services at Udhampur. The new equipments i.e Optical Coherence Tomography and Zeiss Visucam – 524 Fundus Camera with ICG Module along with other equipments was procured at a cost of Rs 51 lakh. These equipments were installed at KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital by the engineers of Carl Zeiss India Pvt. Ltd. A colourful function was organised to dedicate these equipments in the service of humanity by the Rotarians. District Governor R.I. Distt. 3070 Rtn Barjesh Singhal and DRFC PDG Rtn Upkar Singh Sethi switched on the equipments to serve the humanity at a very affordable cost and even free for those who are not in a position to pay. The patients suffering with Diabetic Retinopathy will be the most beneficiary of these equipments. At present there are large number of patients suffering with Diabetic Retinopathy and such patients has to be referred to other part of J & K state to avail this facility. These Hi-Tech eye diagnostic equipments were sponsored by Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Rotary district 3070 (India), 3141 (Mumbai), 6650 (USA) and by different clubs i.e Rotary Club Udhampur, Rotary Club Mumbai Down Town Sea Land, Rotary Club Pune Far East, Rotary Club Plain Township, Rotary Club of Jammu, Jammu City, Rajouri, Akhnoor & Inner Wheel Club Udhampur under Global Grant No. 1875576. The Project was started in Jan. 2019. At present we don’t have this specialty in Jammu region and patients have to travel away from J & K state for their treatment. Our hospital will provide these services at very affordable cost and even free of cost for those who cannot afford. With the addition of these facilities the patients suffering with various eye ailments especially in diabetic patients will be treated at KLSM Rotary Eye & ENT Hospital Udhampur at a very affordable cost. Dr Ankur Goel awared the audience about the benefits of these equipment to the humanity. During inauguration of function large number of Rotarians from Rajouri, Jammu, Jammu City, Jammu Tawi, Jammu Aastha, Akhnoor were present on this occasion. Members of Rotary Club Udhampur Rtn V. S. Raja, Rtn Rajendra Sanson, Rtn S. S. Kerni, Rtn Puran Lal Sharma, Rtn Jasbir Singh, Rtn Manjeet Singh, Rtn Col. Hargovind Sing, Rtn Jugal Kishore Gupta, Inner Wheel Club members of Udhampur, Sr. citizens of Udhampur, prominent citizens, staff of Rotary Hospital Udhampur and public were also present in this function. Sh Dev Raj Gupta Chairman and Mr Satish Chopra member of Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial charitable Trust were also present on this occasion, All the Rotarians and non Rotarians who had contributed for global grant have been felicitated with the trophies.
