The Jammu & Kashmir Government recently announced new school timing. As per the order the School timings in Winter Zone will be from 09.00 am to 3 pm instead of from 10.00 am to 04.00pm which is neither suitable for students nor for Teachers. It is pertinent to mention that in Winter Zone Areas due to difficult geographical terrains schools are largely situated in such a way that it has to accommodate such students who have to cover miles to reach in their Schools.
Moreover in these hilly and backward areas Under Winter Zone maximum schools are without road connectivity and as such it is impossible for both students as well as for teachers to reach in the school at 9.00 am after covering distances on foot. Apart from this in summer particularly from April to July at 3.00 pm the outside temperature is at its peak which will further increase the problems of teachers and students in when they go home. Scorching heat and humidity will not only make the journey of teachers and students difficult, moreover it will adversely affect their health too.
Needles to say that if students will not feel well with new timing of schools then its imposition is really a matter of reconsideration.
Judge from whichever angel but it is clear that new timing is anti-students, anti-teachers and anti-Parents as well.
Therefore, it is requested the state government should roll back this order.
Last but not the least keeping concern of Students in view it is further requested that a fresh order regarding from 10.00 am to 04.00 pm School timing in Winter Zone of Jammu Division may very kindly be issued as early as
