JAMMU: Rohit Chib clinched the Junior Snooker title after he defeated Stanzin Stobdan 3-2 in a tough game that lasted for full five frames in the Jammu District Billiards and Snooker Championship underway at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Down 1-2, Rohit fought back to take away final two frames and the game making it 3-2. The score: 67-33, 25-61, 34-48, 56-21, 55-36.
Meanwhile, in the Junior Billiards event, Stanzin has made it to the final. Now, he shall be playing against Basit Wani for the title tomorrow. Semifinals: Stanzin beat Ananya Mahajan 2-0 (50-38, 51-32); Basit defeated Saksham Mahajan 2-0 (51-45, 51-37). Preliminary Round: Basit trounced Aman Sharma 2-1 (51-26, 14-50, 51-42); Ananya Mahajan blanked Charanjeet Singh 2-0 (51-28, 53-24).
The Results: Senior Snooker Round Ist: Sanjay Sharma beat Varun Jamwal 3-1 (61-28, 24-65, 54-44, 50-13); Mukesh Kapahi defeated Abhirath Gulati 3-0 (79-29, 60-30, 51-26); Ragun Choudhary downed Narinde Singh 3-1 (66-27, 67-17, 20-55, 46-22); Arjun Sharma trounced Amardeep Singh 3-1 (56-32, 46-63, 61-39, 49-38).
