STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The Regional Outreach Bureau J&K organised a special yoga camp for diabetics as a part of on-going pre-publicity campaign for International Yoga Day 2019, in premises of Guest House at Government Medical College, Jammu. Regional Outreach Bureau J&K region is organising a series of pre-publicity programmes for spreading mass awareness regarding forthcoming International Yoga Day 2019 in almost all districts of Jammu division and Ladakh division. The programme was attended by a large number of senior citizens, women and students, mostly suffering from diabetes. Special Yoga Aasans were demonstrated during the programme, which have direct benefit for diabetic patients, followed by detailed lectures by Yoga experts on the topic ‘Cure of Diabetes through Yoga’. A number of patients also spoke on the occasion and shared their experiences. During the programme, a special session on topic ‘Acupuncture and Yoga’ was also conducted by an acupuncture expert. A live demonstration on acupuncture was also held, which was enthusiastically witnessed by participants. While delivering concluding lecture, Vijay Soni, Secretary Arogya Bharti spoke about the importance of Yoga. He stressed upon the need for making people habitual of Yoga, for leading a healthy lifestyle free from diseases. He termed Yoga as ‘Ram Baan’ for patients of diabetes. Later, a felicitation function was also held wherein Yoga Shikshaks were honoured. The vote of thanks was presented by Rajesh Sharma, Incharge Field Publicity Officer Jammu. He urged people to participate in large numbers in celebrations of forthcoming International Yoga Day.
