JAMMU: R.M Public School on Tuesday celebrated Teachers Day in its school premises to thank the teaching faculty for their contribution as they are making efforts to make the lives of students better.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla I.D Soni and Natre Prakash (Ex-incharge of Shiksha Niketan Jeevan Nagar) attended the function as a Special Guests.
The theme of the day was ‘Teachers are the nation builders’.
Teachers always inspire their students to aspire for greater things and they always ought to be highly respected members of the society as they mend the individual personality of their students.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest Raman Bhalla along with Chairman of R.M Public School Rameshwar Mengi and Trustee Rita Mengi.
In the beginning there was a welcome dance by the students of class 7th and duet was presented by the students of the institution. The Chairman, Rameshwar Mengi and Trustee Rita Mengi presented bouquets and gifts to our guests.
Various cultural programmes and Dogri dance were presented by the students of different classes to make this function as a memorable day.
The teachers and students of the school threw light on the life and achievements of Dr. Savepalli RadhaKrishnan whose birthday is being celebrated as Teachers day.
The students have also presented speech by giving a message that the teachers have the ability and strength to fight the odds and make the nation a powerful and a well educated.
The programme was hosted by the students of class 7th Vineet and Kamakshi. The gifts and cheques were distributed among the staff members and other dignitaries of the school as a token of love and respect.
The Principal of the School, Ravinder Kour reminded the children of the tireless labour and effort put in the teachers to bring them up as knowledgeable and compassionate individuals and also told that the teachers are backbone of our society, they also play a great role in building up the character of students and shape them to become an ideal citizen of India.
She also threw light on teachers of that era and of contemporary. After paying tributes to Dr. Savepalli Radhakrishnan the students gave a mesmerising performance and expressed their gratitude for their teachers in the form of self composed poems and songs.
