State Times News RAMNAGAR: JKNPP activists belonging to several villages of Ramnagar constituency, led by the Chairman and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh held a demonstration in Ramnagar on Saturday, protesting the closure of existing five health centres in the constituency and their shifting to Udhampur constituency. The protestors raised slogans against the CMO Udhampur and NHM authorities for depriving people of various remote and far flung villages of existing healthcare facility. Flaying the Health Department for closing down five health and wellness centres in Ramnagar constituency, Harsh Dev Singh sought personal indulgence of the Advisor concerned and immediate revival of such centres in view of widespread resentment in affected villages. He regretted that such Health centres, which were functional in villages Dalsar, Sunetar, Sulghar, Chowki Jandror and upper Rassain, were closed down arbitrarily by an order issued by the CMO Udhampur and entire staff, including doctors and para-medicos along with equipments and medicines, was ordered to be shifted to various locations in Udhampur constituency, without any justified reasons. Supporting the agitation launched in various villages of Ramnagar constituency against arbitrary and prejudicial conduct of concerned officers in shifting the aforesaid health institutions, Singh demanded immediate rollback of the order. Alleging extraneous considerations in issuance of such perverse order, Singh called upon the Advisor to Governor, Incharge Health Department to personally intervene into the matter for restoration of aforesaid centres, failing which the people would be forced to resort to indefinite strikes and Bandhs.
