Shaheed Sub Inspector Sethi Ram Cricket Tournament
STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Reshav Fotra smashed a 50-ball 104 to help BCC record a comfortable 53-run win over RRCC in the Cricket Tournament organised here in Monday by the local youth of Tehsil Bishnah in memory of Shaheed Sethi Ram, Sub Inspector in Jammu and Kashmir Police. Sethi Ram attained martyrdom at Shopian in Kashmir in July 2009 for the cause of nation. Batting first, BCC scored a mammoth total of 218 runs in 16 overs. Besides Reshav Fotra, Motton also played well and scored 65 runs off just 29 balls while Sahil Kumar smashed quick-fire 41 off 11 balls. Anil added 20 runs off 15 balls to the total. In reply, RRCC managed to score only 165 in 16 overs. Sandeep was the top scorer with 30 off 15 balls followed by Deepak and Sourab, who scored 27 off 16 balls and 20 off 12 balls respectively. Amit made 14 of just five balls. For bowling side, Abhi, Muna and Rohit picked two wickets each. For his brilliant century, Reshav Fotra was declared Man of the Match. The tournament was organised by the committee under the chairmanship of Sushant Gupta. Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Lakshadweep and Member BCCI, Ranjeet Kalra, prominent social worker Ashok Dubey, SDPO Saurab Prasher, SHO Rajesh Sharma, prominent citizens and sportspersons attended the prize distribution function. The family members of the martyred SI were also honoured on the occasion by the prominent citizens.
