JAMMU: Emphasising on the need for releasing arrears of Seventh Pay Commission in favour of State pensioners in one installment, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) urged the Governor, N.N Vohra to expedite the process of giving arrears of Seventh Pay Commission in one installment to all pensioners likewise the pensioners above 80 age group who have already been given the privilege of having arrears in one installment.
“This is need of the hour when the prices of basic amenities are going up sharply and pensioners from 60-80 age groups have no source of income expect their monthly pension,” President NMC Subash Shastri told reporters here on Sunday.
Shastri hoped that as a good will gesture, Governor would direct the high ups of the Finance department to take the matter in to consideration and take necessary step as soon as possible, so that these pensioners would get a sigh of relief. Shastri demanded for enhancing medical allowance for State pensioners on the analogy of Central Government pattern, Shastri also urged, N.N Vohra to follow the suit so that pensioners are compensated to defray the day to day medical expenses till the demand of State Government employees and pensioner categories to enhance the same three thousand per month is met.
Among others who were also present on the occasion include Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Madan Lal, Suraj Parkash, Ram Singh, Paramjeet, Sudesh, Sunil, Surinder Kumar, Bhupinder Singh and Ramesh Sharma.
