The successful conduct of Panchayat and ULB polls without an iota of doubt has invigorated the morale of all those manning the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir State with Governor Satya Pal Malik sitting at the helm getting a definite edge and extra boost as far as steering the trouble-torn State is concerned which has become evident by his commandment that we are ready for the Assembly polls and now it is upto Election Commission of India or the Central Government to take the final call on the issue.
Interestingly, the top level of rejuvenation and confidence achieved by the President’s representative in J&K has a long and tedious background of valour, camaraderie and sacrifices of our security forces, precise usage of acumen of our bureaucrats to tactically handle situations which are peculiar and unseen before and the commitment of the most significant stakeholders in the whole gamut viz. the people of Jammu and Kashmir. As the stage is set for the Assembly polls, now the ball is in the hand of Centre to make best use of the situation and without wasting a jiffy it should carryout necessary steps to install popular government in the State so that forces inimical to peace, tranquility and stability of the State cannot exploit the situation and bring situation back to tumultuous stage. The role played by the Centre in taking control of things in turmoil ridden J&K State deserves kudos as it has put a full-stop on the activities of people involved in kindling trouble in J&K by making them redundant and their relevance vapid in State’s political arena. The announcement about setting up of stage for the Assembly polls by the Governor Malik has once again brought vibrancy in J&K’s political circles and the charge which was dissipated after the culmination of ULB and Panchayat elections has again started accumulating with bonding of leaders with various political outfits becoming apparent and those losing relevance in one party getting aligned to those Tanzeems giving them room they are expecting. Believing the statement of ECI that J&K shall witness Assembly polls before May, 2019 along with Lok Sabha polls or separately it could be well guessed that coming days shall be full of political ups and downs and adrenaline levels of people interested in politics to touch new heights whether they live in J&K or elsewhere.
