STATE TIMES NEWS SUNDERBANI: The officer of Banking Ombudsman and Ombudsman for Digital Transactions, RBI in collaboration with the Harsh Niketan Higher Secondary School Sunderbani conducted an awareness programme on Banking Ombudsman Scheme (BOS) and Ombudsman Scheme for Digital Transactions. The programme was presided over by P Shimrah, Banking Ombudsman and Ombudsman for Digital Transaction for the state of Jammu & Kashmir while HS Verma Head of the Ombudsman Secretariat was also present. Shallu Sharma Principal of the school along with teachers and other staff members attended the programme. Shimrah spoke on the need and importance of financial literacy and financial freedom emphasising on the principle of keeping good record of all financial transactions, planning the spending, saving and investment, giving back to the society and the enjoying whatever one has. H.S Verma , Secretary, Ombudsman, Jammu briefly explained the salient features of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme, impact of digitalization and RBI guidelines on Limited Liability Using acronyms ABCDE he explained the precautions needed to be taken while going in for ATM transactions, Bank accounts, Calls from fraudsters seeking information, Debit card/ Credit Card and Emails.
