JAMMU: Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Jammu Regional Office conducted a foreign exchange familarisation programme ‘Forex for You’ for the customer at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, Jammu University on Friday.
Regional Director RBI, N.K Sahu inaugurated the programme.
In his welcome address, Anil Reshi, In-charge of FED, Srinagar highlighted the issues and problems faced by customers in Srinagar and advised the banks to provide help and support to customers in the region.
D.K Kashyap, DGM in his keynote address gave a broad overview of strengths of Indian economy in the areas of forex and highlighted on the global scenario and India’s strength in the present circumstances.
Suresh Sharma, Banking Ombudsman of J&K State created awareness about the role of banking Ombudsman in customer service.
In addition to the bankers and representatives of money changers, students from 15 schools and colleges also participated in the event. A quiz was conducted by the officials of Reserve Bank.
The Regional Director distributed prizes to the winners of quiz which include Aahwan Gupta and Nitesh of J.K Public School, Kanav and Manavi of Army Public School Kaluchack, Nikhil Gupta of Heritage School, Shivam Sanoria of Jodhamal Public School and Nidhi Singh of Presentation Convent School, Jammu. Tarish Jain, Kavin Sharma and Simran Kaur were winners from College groups.
