JAMMU: Principal Sessions Judge Bhadarwah M.K Sharma on Saturday acquitted Shah Jahan Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Draie Tehsil Gandoh who was facing trial in rape with a handicapped girl, as the prosecution suffers from inherent inconsistencies and flaws.
According to the police case, it was a case of rape with a handicapped and dumb girl. The parents of the victim had gone to village Dalhori on November 29, 2013, in connection with marriage of a close relative and the victim was alone at home at village Draie Bheja Tehsil Gandoh. The accused was also present in the house, where the parents of the victim had gone and on coming to know that Pooja Devi is alone at home, the accused with a criminal intention came to the house of the victim at Draie Bheja and committed rape upon her.
