BHADARWAH: To mark the Birth Anniversary of Lord Rama, the festival of Ram Navami was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety throughout Chenab Valley on Wednesday. Despite intermittent rains, the devotees including men, women and children visited the temples since morning and paid their obeisance besides taking part in Havan for peace, stability and prosperity in the area.
At Kishtwar, on the occasion of Ram Navami, heavy rush of devotees was seen in temples during the Pooja and people made long queues to participate in the Pooja and other religious rituals.
An impressive Shobha Yatra was also taken out which started from Sarkoot Mandir Kishtwar and after passing through Sarkoot,Parade Groud , Sheedhi Chowk and Bus Stand culminated at Ram Mandir Semna Kishtwar.
The people decorated the bazaars to greet the Shoba Yatra and devotees were seen showering flowers on it at various places.
District administration and police had made elaborate security arrangements for the Shoba Yatra and senior police officers were also accompanying the Yatra.
At Bhadarwah, long queues were witnessed outside the temples especially at Gupt Ganga Temple and Vasuki Nag Temple, where devotees were also served with Prashad and Langar by the temple committees.
People from other faiths were also seen greeting their Hindu brethren on this auspicious day.
Shobha Yatra was also taken out which commence from Vasuki Nag Temple Bhadarwah and after passing through various bazaars including Ganpat Market, Seri Bazaar and Lakshmi Narayan Chowk, culminated at Gupt Ganga Temple. On the occasion, thousands of people standing on both sides of the road greeted the Shobha Yatra while showering flowers. A lot of enthusiasm was witnessed among the devotees participating in the Shobha Yatra.
To facilitate the devotees, the administration had also made elaborate arrangements besides ensuring adequate security around the temples to ensure peaceful conduct of religious celebration.
The reports coming from other areas of Chenab Valley said that festival was celebrated with full religious enthusiasm in Doda, Ramban, Batote, Bhalla, Drabshala, Bhallesa, Nagseni, Bhalra, Chinta, Thathri and other places as well.
KATHUA: Ram Navmi was celebrated in Kathua district on Wednesday with full religious fervour and gaiety. A large number of devotees thronged the temples of the district to pay obeisance.
An impressive shobha Yatra was also taken out in Kathua which passed through Main Bazaar, Mukerjee Chowk, College Road, Shaheedi Chowk, Shiva Nagar, Patel Nagar, Kalibari via Hatlimore and back at Main Bazaar.
A large number of devotees including women and children carrying placards and banners in their hands spread the messages of universal brotherhood and love. They also danced, chanted mantras and sung Bhajans in the praise of Lord Rama. The authorities made elaborate arrangements for the Shobha Yatra. Subash Shastri Maharaj Ji was the chief guest of the occasion while Piyush Ji Maharaj, Satpaul Masotra, Jaat Ram Sharma, Dr. Dushyant Ubbott, Janak Raj Sharma and Thandu Ram Sharma were also present.
Meanwhile the Ram Navami was celebreated in different areas of Nowshera Sub District with religious fervor.
After the accomplishment of seven days long Ram Katha in Thakurdwara Khooh wala Nowshera, a Shobha Yatra was taken out under the supervision of 1008 Maha Mandleshwar Swami Santosh Dass Moni Ji amid religious slogans.
