JAMMU: All State Kashmiri Pandit conference (ASKPC) termed the meeting of Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh with Kashmiri Pandits as an eye-wash.
“Calling Kashmiri Pandit leaders for a meeting to discuss and deliberate upon the sensitive situations and finding ways and means of return and rehabilitation of displaced community and allowing only eight minutes time for the delegation comprising 16 members is itself speaks the casual approach of the Union Government,” said Advocate Ravinder Raina, President ASKPC in the meeting held here on Tuesday.
Raina termed this a casual and non-serious approach of the authorities as a cruel joke. He said even the local authority also were not comfortable in prescribing the list of delegates due to the interference of a political party who want it to comprise of members from their parties.
“Settlement of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community is a serious issue and it must draw an honest concern from the authority,” Raina said adding that dealing such burning and important issue in such a casual approach is very unfortunate.
ASKPC sought an immediate and urgent appointment with the Home Ministry to discuss issues confronting Kashmiri Pandits.
