JAMMU: SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta exhorted upon the investigating officers to conduct the investigation of cases with dedication and transparency and bring the pendency to the minimum.
Chairing review meeting of Police Sub-Division City West here on Friday, SSP Jammu examined the performance of police stations.
The main focus of the meeting was to improve the quality of investigation of accident cases, motor vehicle theft, burglary, NDPS Act and other cases. Besides, missing persons, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders and action taken under preventive measures were also reviewed.
SP City North, Dr Vinod Kumar; SDPO West Nikhil Rasgotra, SHO Police Station Bakshi Nagar, SHO Nowabad, SHO Janipur, In-charge of Police Posts under Sub-Division City West and investigating officers of these units were present in the meeting.
In view of forth coming Shab-I-Miraz celebration, the officers from Sub-Div City West were directed to remain extra vigilant and put Nakas on high alert to keep a close watch over the activities of ANEs/ASEs.
The issues of public complaints pending with Police Sub-Division City West were also discussed.
Expressing concern over the overall disposal which was not upto the standard, the SSP Jammu directed SHOs and I/C Police Posts to raise their competency level and performance especially on property offences and NDPS cases.
He advised the Sub Divison West to do all preventive exercise in view of Yatra. He took the strict review for early finalisation of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public.
SSP also checked the case files of heinous offences and took the serious note of it and directed I/Os for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation. He also advised the police stations staff to conduct foot patrolling in their respective jurisdictions.
