STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: The BJP on Sunday appointed Ravinder Raina as the party’s new J&K unit chief. The 41-year-old MLA from the border district of Nowshehra in Jammu has been an RSS Pracharak. His appointment is seen as the party’s attempt to reach out to its supporter base in Jammu, which it feels is slowly drifting away due to coalition politics. Raina was re-elected in the presence of Observer for J&K BJP President’s Organizational Elections Dr. Harshvardhan, Union Minister accompanied by BJP National Secretary Tarun Chugh and was presented certificate, Mata Ki Chunri, Pagdi and also welcomed with massive garlands. It is worthwhile to notice that the BJP is conducting nationwide organizational elections since last 3 months and senior leaders. Varinderjit Singh and Munish Sharma were entrusted to supervise the organizational elections in the UT from booth President to State President as UT Incharge and Co-Incharge respectively. MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Dy. CMs Dr. Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta, BJP General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, former President Ashok Khajuria, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, former Ministers Sat Sharma, A. G. Kohli, Chander Prakash Ganga, Sukhnandan Choudhary, Dr. D.K. Manyal, Sham Choudhary, Bali Bhagat, Shakti Parihar, Ajay Nanda and Priya Sethi, State General Secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi and Sunil Sharma, Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi (Adv.), Sham Lal Sharma and other senior party leaders were also present on the occasion. Dr Harshvardhan, while congratulating Ravinder Raina on the occasion, complimented him for the prestigious post and termed him as a powerful voice of the BJP in the UT. Strong patriot, young and full of aggression, he has taken command in the things during the past. Morale of the party workers has remained high under the dynamic leadership of Ravinder Raina, he said and extended the greetings on behalf of whole central leadership. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set an example of selfless work for the Nation and Home Minister and BJP National President Amit Shah has set new benchmarks for the organizational work and now, he put onus of development of J&K on Ravinder Raina and assured that every Minister in PM Modi’s Cabinet will contribute in the development. Tarun Chugh, said that BJP has always remained focused on its ideologies and never deviated from its path of Nation service. He said that the sacrifices of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji on the soil of J&K still inspire us to dedicate ourselves towards the Nation and the society. He said that we are committed to finish menace of terrorism from the soil. He said that certain mainstream politicians bring bad name to the Nation by speaking the voice of anti-India elements and Pakistan, but we assure the public of India that we will expose every such person. He congratulated Ravinder Raina and said that the forthcoming 3 years will be written as the golden moments in the history. Ravinder Raina, overwhelmed with the love and support shown to him by all party leaders and activists thanked them for the faith they have entrusted in him for the task. He said that the past one year and eight months were full of challenges for him as President of J&K BJP, but he took it as the God’s work and put his all efforts in the accomplishment of the basic duties. He also congratulated all the party workers for the great achievements in all the elections in the past one-and-a-half-year right from Panchayat to ULB as well as Parliament. On the occasion, Raina also remembered all the BJP activists, persons and the security personnel who sacrificed their lives for the Nation. Raina, assured everybody once again that he is living for the country and will die for the country and will never let anybody to do any harm to the Nation. He said that Congress has done enough harm to the Nation, but the BJP activists have also vowed to keep the Nation’s flag high and free from any danger. Dy.
