Ousted Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has threatened New Delhi of serious consequences and emergence of new Syed Sallah-ud-Dins and Yasin Maliks in case her Peoples’ Democratic Party was fragmented and divided. The threat should not be seen as vague but it is real.
“If there are any attempts to engineer a split in the PDP like it was done in 1987 to commit robbery on people’s vote and to crush the MUF (Muslim United Front), the results will be extremely dangerous,” she said.
Mehbooba Mufti said what she had to say and it is now for the BJP to do explaining. The electors who voted 25 MLAs from the Jammu region would like to know why their mandate was bartered to bestow benefits to less than a dozen or more by compromising the basics of the BJP.
The BJP will be required to explain to the people of India why a pitch was raised on issues like Article 35A, Article 370, Ek Nishan Ek Vidhan Ek Pradhan, dozen heads of Pak soldiers in lieu of one Indian and then burying all these after sitting in the cradle of power both in New Delhi and in Srinagar.
The PDP tamed the BJP on day one of their alignment. The latter could not, however, listen to the alarm bells sounded by Mufti Sayeed soon after sworn in as the Chief Minister. Flanked by his overawed deputy Nirmal Singh, the shrewd founder of the PDP showered all the praises for Pakistan, terrorists and secessionists, for making the election process successful. Subsequent events, like release of Masarat Alam, provision of space to Hurriyat by permitting a mega reception rally for Syed Ali Shah Geelani, allowing chronic secessionists to meet Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi, issuance of circular for strict adherence to use of the State flag, alongside the Tricolour-a subtle diktat to BJP ministers were part of the brief history, scripted to shame the saffron outfit.
The three years of BJP partnered coalition government has proven that the dispensation is no different from earlier arrangements between power-broking Congress, National Conference and the PDP. In fact, the BJP turned out as the meekest ever Jammu side, which played like a puppet into the hands of Kashmir centric PDP. The BJP ministers might have benefitted by playing worse type of second fiddle to their Srinagar master, the Jammu psyche took a nose dive, which is why the heroes of yesterday are now perceived as villains of the Duggar land. The BJP’s failure in Kashmir is yet another defeat for the Indian nation at the hands of the parasites fed during the past seven decades.
Today’s statement of Mehbooba Mufti should serve as an eye opener for all those in New Delhi experimenting on Kashmir.
New Delhi has always exposed its naivety and lack of understanding on Kashmir. Making experiments has been the only policy being pursued by South Block incumbents. This has not made any difference for the past seven decades except hostilities getting hardened towards the nation. The BJP accelerated the anti-India passions in Kashmir to the extent of rogues and political deceits calling shots openly and brazenly.
After taking over reins in New Delhi, the BJP was expected to deliver on national security front but it proved as a lame duck outfit, having no appreciation of ground realities in the Valley.
Kashmir has two sets of people; one who hate India and the other who are dormant but not necessarily pro-Indians. Those who survive on India bashing are in minority but enjoy a big clout. They are the rulers; they are the leaders; and they are also the exploiters. Their modus operandi is to adopt right posture at right time. They mould their strategies as per situations but they ensure their hegemony on the majority dormant population. Not only Syed Ali Shah Geelani and his ilk but the so-called mainstream leaders from Mehbooba Mufti to Farooq Abdullah, Saif-ud-Din Soz to Ghulam Nabi Azad and so on come from the vocal minority set of Kashmir population, who thrive on generating passions at the cost of miseries to dormant majority to have best of both the worlds. They are, in fact, parasites, sustaining on the blood of poor Indian tax-payers.
Together with the so-called best of Indian politicians, journos and intelligentsia, the parasites of the Valley have brought the nation to morass. The so-called Indian intelligentsia thinks that they are the only wise people who hold the key to solve complex Kashmir imbroglio. Their belief gets strengthened after one or two brief jaunts to the ‘hot’ valley when they start believing to be experts on Kashmir. This leaves those natives, having lived and grown up in Kashmir pondering, and also wondering, who after decades could not understand even an iota of Kashmir psyche.
