KALAKOTE: National Conference on Wednesday continued protests in support of the demand for posting of Additional Deputy Commissioner in the border Tehsil on permanent basis, seeking decision to be taken in this regard without further delay.
Led by former MLA and State Secretary Th Rachpal Singh, the protests were joined by the women workers of the party, who raised black flags to show their resentment against the negative approach of the PDP-BJP Government towards the popular demand of the area.
They cautioned against taking the people for granted and sought fulfillment of the genuine demand.
Th Rachpal Singh lauded the resilience and steadfast approach of the people of Kalakote, who are protesting for the past 17 days resolutely. He also expressed solidarity with the local Beopar Mandal, which is spearheading the agitation. He said the people of the area won’t rest till the acceptance of their demand by the insensitive coalition.
The former MLA assailed the Coalition Government for its anti-people policies, saying due to administrative and developmental inertia, the problems of the area have increased manifold.
He said the three years of the present dispensation have been full of chaos and upheaval.
Th Rachpal Singh recalled the dreams shown by the Coalition Government over three years ago and said the hollowness of these is galore, in every sector. Instead of getting engaged in enhancing quality of life of the people, the PDP and BJP have entangled themselves in numberless controversies that have shadowed the normal life.
He said the people have been paying huge price for reposing their trust in the parties which are too self-centred. “They have forged alliance just for lust of power and not serving the people, which has been proven in immense measure”, he maintained.
