JAMMU: Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organised a programme on Swachhta Action Plan-2018 (SAP) here on Thursday at Government Industrial Institute.
The aim of the programme was to acquaint people about various aspects and provisions of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) for general public and youth of the institute in particular. A series of information, education and communication (IEC) activities were included in the programme viz screening of documentary films, presentation of skits and mimes, expert lectures by resource persons, open quiz contest, seminar, etc. Experts from Rural Development Department, faculty ITI, Probationary Officers from IIS and other intellectuals including Dr Sunil Sharma, Amandeep Singh, Naresh Sharma, Nazir Ahmed Molvi, Shabir Dar also spoke on the occasion.
Resource persons delivered key note addresses on the implementation of Swachh Bharata Abhiyan, Swachhta Action Plan-2018 and provided elaborate information about the rights and duties of every citizen to achieve the desired goals of SBM and SAP-2018.
Neha Jalali, Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting highlighted the importance of Swachhta Action Plan-2018 and urged for shouldering responsibilities to spread the awareness of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their respective areas and fields.
Anoop Sharma, Principal of the host Institute who presided over the function, emphasised the need to change the mindset and habits to create a clean India.
Swachhta pledge was also administered on the occasion and prizes among the winners of quiz and participants of seminar were also distributed.
