JAMMU: To have first hand assessment of facilities available to girl students in the hostel, Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi paid a surprise visit to the Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar and had dinner with the hostellers.
While interacting with the students, the minister highlighted the rich culture and heritage of the state and inquired about background of the students with regard to their academic history. She said the youth of state are second to none in talent and with right counselling and career advice they can excel at national and international levels.
“The government is committed to provide all required facilities of better infrastructure, human resource and proper counseling at school and college level,” she added.
Priya inquired about availability of newspapers, magazines, sports facilities to the students and directed the college Principal to take all required measures for further improvement of facilities to the hostellers besides ensuring better academic environment in the institute.
