Despite tall claims by the successive governments, the acts of nepotism and corruption are on increase in Jammu and Kashmir, once declared as second most corrupt state of the country. In a shocking revelation, siblings of a former bureaucrat stand selected for government employment with 12th pass qualification while more qualified-graduates, post graduated and others remain either deprived of the opportunity or placed on the wait list.
Is it a matter of pride or shame for the policy planners to keep loopholes in the selection process through various recruitment agencies in order to keep some margin to accommodate kin and favourites at the cost of meritorious candidates in the government service?
