Dear Editor, India is the second most populous country of the world. As per geographical area is concerned it is seventh in queue. population density of india is increasing day by day creating havoc for its citizens. population of our country is increasing day by day at the geometrical pattern but it’s area is confined within its boundary limits. As a consequence we have seen a continuous struggle of its inhabitants for various basic needs and resources. Population explosion further creates hindrance in its development in all aspects. Many other related problem linked with population growth are unemployment, poverty, social evils, mismanagement and security. Due to increase in population the human value is decreasing day by day in this cultural rich country. Even the crime rate is increasing day by day due to scarcity of resources and delay in legal justice to common masses. many awareness programme have been launched by govt to aware the public about hazards of population growth. But still people are not following the norms of two child family. China which is the most populous country of the world adopted this policy earlier. But in India there is still no check and legal barrier for this policy. Now the time has come to adopt such measures of population control legally. Various reasons are responsible for increase in population I.e Religious interference, gender discrimination, lack of education, scarcity of medical devices and counselling, immigration etc. Even prime minister on his independence day speech raise this issue publically. He asserted that small family structure is the key of happiness . But political and religious hindrance came in the way of this campaign and policy. So, it is need of the hour to make some strong law for this. This man made devastation can create turbulence in the balance of nature and further responsible for its exploitation and degradation. Shyam Sudan, Sunderbani( Baja Bain).
