JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugee Front on Tuesday held a protest against Provincial Rehabilitation Officer Jammu and Nodal Officer Additional Jammu for non-implementation of the financial package sanctioned by Government of India.
A large number of refugees including women activists under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugee Front-1947, 65 and 71 assembled at Press Club and staged the protest in support of their long pending demands.
Led by Racchpal Singh Chib, President of the Front, the protesters shouted slogans against government alleging that it has failed to mitigate the sufferings of thousands of refugees families struggling for their rights for the last over six decades. They demanded their final settlement package being sanctioned by the Government of India.
The POJK DP Front led by Rachhpal Singh Chib appealed to the PRO Jammu to provide a copy of the public notice to the Front.
Chib said that Front would file a PIL in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir seeking justice for the PoJK displaced persons.
The Front leader announced that the protest would continue till the PRO Jammu implements the package.
