JAMMU: The Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested a physical education teacher for having allegedly furnished forged Date of Birth (DoB) certificate while seeking the job in the state government service. He also tempered his marks to matriculation
The Crime Branch sleuths on Thursday arrested Paramjeet Singh, son of Ram Lal, resident of Sarian Ward No 7, Poonch for submitting fake and forged date of birth and qualification certificates while seeking the job of physical education teacher in district Reasi.
The Crime Branch had started investigations after it received a complaint that the accused had secured the job after furnishing forged documents.
During the course of investigations it was found that the accused had altered his date of birth by one year. He produced a fake certificate indicating his whereas date of birth as 4 April, 1968 whereas his actual date of birth as per J&K Board of School Education records was 4th April, 1967.
It was also ascertained that he had prepared fake matriculation showing his marks as 446 instead of 279 which he had actually scored in the examination.
FIR 11/15 has been registered against Paramjit Singh and he has been taken into custody.
