UDHAMPUR: The Water Works (PHE) Employees Association district Udhampur during a meeting held on Monday threatened the Government for ‘Kaam Chhor’ and ‘No Wages, No Work’ strike on account of dismal attitude of the Government towards the PHE employees and daily wagers who are without salary for the last 38-40 months. The meeting was chaired by District president Udhampur Som Nath and Vice President of Jammu Province. The meeting was attended by the workers from all the stations of District Udhampur.
Som Nath and General Secretary Vijay Kumar strongly condemned the attitude of Government for not releasing the salary of the workers for years together and not regularising the workers who have put in 18 years of regular service.
While enumerating their demands they demanded salary, regularisation of daily workers, implementation of Minimum Wages Act giving rate of Rs 350 per day, implementation of 7th pay commission, etc.
Makhan Chand, Jagdish Magotra, Krishan Chand, Dinash Kesar, Kuldeep Kumar, Baldev Singh, Shamsher Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Janait Ali, Bharat Singh, Shambu Dutt, Karan Singh and Sham Lal were also present.
