STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: PHE employees on Tuesday staged a protest against the government for not releasing their long pending wages. Led by senior leaders of PHE namely Bakshi Singh, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Subash Verma, Kartar Chand Dubey, Kulbhushan Singh and Bhanu Partap Singh, a number of PHE employees and Casual workers under the banner of ‘PHE Employees United Front (PHEEUF) ‘Gheraod’ the office of Chief Engineer PHE, Jammu. The employees expressed resentment against higher authorities of PHE and Finance Department for adopting delay tactics to fulfill their pending demands. The PHE workers demanded regularisation of casual and other workers, release of all pending earned wages for last 55 months, month-wise wages for all casual workers, providing Rs 5 lakh cash compensation to retiring or retired casual workers besides providing job to a family member of deceased daily wagers along with removal of wages bar. The PHE leaders warned that if their demands are not considered upto June 22, they would be forced to launch ‘Kaam Chhoro Hartal’.
