STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Demanding regularisation and implementation of Seventh Pay Commission besides fulfilment of other demands, the PHE workers on Monday held a strong protest near press club here. The PHE daily wagers including CP workers, ITI trained and need based workers assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club with their children and shouted slogans against the State PHE authorities and Chief Engineer, PHE Jammu for ignoring their genuine demands. The speakers said that the future of thousands of Daily Wagers/ITI/CP Workers/ Need Based/Land Donors is still hanging in balance despite the fact that they have been serving the department since years. President of the Association, Tanveer Hussain said Chief Engineer gave the assurance that their demands are considered till October 10 but nothing has been done till date in this regard. They demanded from the government to formulate a proper regularisation policy for all Daily Wagers/ITI/CP Workers/Need Based/Land Donors and settle all pending issues at the earliest. They demanded that workers who have donated their owned lands to get engaged in the department as permanent employees be also given justice and regularised. They asked government to immediately release all the pending wages of the workers.
