JAMMU: JKNPP expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of medical facilities being provided to the common man in the government hospitals of Jammu city.
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday, Zonal President Jammu, Neeraj Gupta mentioned that the Jammu District is having only one children hospital i.e, SMGS Hospital which is not enough to fulfill the needs of the patients.
“The patients are ill-treated by the doctors and other paramedical staff besides only one bed is allotted to two to three children. Some patients are lying on the floor due to non-availability of beds,” he said. He mentioned that the senior doctors are not available to attend the patient during night hours. “The patients are also deprived of ambulance service as most of the ambulances are not in good condition and those which are so are being used by the influential people. Blood Bank provides blood only on exchange basis, but influential people are getting blood without any exchange. Gupta demanded that the Health Minister should immediately intervene in the matter and take effective steps to improve the prevalent condition in the various hospitals of J and K especially SMGS Hospital.
