JAMMU: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police JSK Range, Rafiq Ul Hassan emphasised that the prime duty of police is to uphold law fairly and firmly to prevent occurrence of crime to pursue and bring to justice those who break the law.
Chairing introductory meeting with all territorial SsP, SDPOs, SHOs and In-charge Police Posts of district Jammu, Hassan reiterated “We must provide help and relief to people in distress and every police officer/official shall behave with the public with the courtesy and decorum, particularly while dealing with women, senior citizens and children as we have been deployed to protect the weak, the under-privileged and to serve the people with a people-friendly attitude in order to gain public confidence.”
Police officers/officials must be very polite while dealing with common citizens and must deal with land/drug mafia with iron hand, he asserted.
Among others who were present in the meeting include Pawan Parihar, SO to DIG JSK Range, Sandeep Choudhary, SP South, Parshotam Sharma DDP RPHQ Jammu, Arun Jamwal SDPO East, Rafiq Manhas SDPO South and Gourab Mahajan DySP, DAR DPL Jammu were present in the meeting.
